PROJECT 1 : SKETCHBOOK AND JOURNAL
Project 1 is an individual task where we were required to produce a minimum of 10 sketches that give a strong idea of the site we were given to carried out our Measured Drawing exercise. The site given to us to carry out the exercise was named Lian Huat Company in Lebuh Carnarvon, Penang. In order for us to produce the 10 sketches, we had a five days four nights site visit to Penang. For this exercise, we were required to sketch the plans, sections and elevations of the building we measured, as an expression of our understanding towards the building. Furthermore, for the 10 sketches, we were required to comprise at least 2 each of the categories stated in the following. They are the genius loci, poetic quality, cultural attributes, and teahnical/ construction details.
Through Project 1, I am able to instil the culture of documenting as part of the learning process in architectural education and my graphic communication skills in capturing important details and the spirit of the place enhances.
In addition, after Project 1, my observation skill to the surrounding increaces as well.
PROJECT 2 : MEASURED DRAWING
Project 2 is a group task where we were required to produce a set of measured drawings of structures of the building given which is Lian Huat Company in Lebuh Carnarvon, Penang. Furthermore, Project 2 is an on-site exercise where we were required to execute fieldwork and hands-on measurement exercise. For this assignment, the set of measured drawings we were required to produce consists of key plan, location plan, site plan incorporating the roof plan, floor plans, elevations, sections, site sections, details and exploded isometric. Besides producing a set of measured drawings of the building, we were also required to construct a physical model to show the construction or structure of the buildings using only balsa wood or white model boards as either one section or an open-able full model.
Through this project, students will be able to explain the as-built building constructions, architectural details, elements and be able to translate measured data into scaled drawings. In addition, students get to produce a report on the buildings highlighting its importance and historical significance after Project 2.

PROJECT 3 : REPORT & VIDEO ON MEASURED BUILDING
PART A: REPORT
Project 3A is a group task where we were required to produce a report to document that accompanies the set of drawings for the building that is measured during the site visit. Basically, the report will elaborate on the significance of the building being measured which is Lian Huat Company in Lebuh Carnarvon, Penang from various aspects such as architectural, historical and cultural. In the report, we were required to relate the architecture of the building to its significance, highlighting how the two support the inhabitation of the building.
From this Project, we were able to documant the significance of the building to accompany the measured drawings and were able to analyse the relationship between architecture and the significance of the building as well as its inhabitation.
PART B: VIDEO
Project 3B is a group task where we were required to produce a 3 to 5 minutes video that contains of the history, culture and architecture of Lian Huat Company in Lebuh Carnarvon, Penang.
